Variations for tradies
Variations: bill every extra
Korda Pro lets Australian tradies log a variation, any change to the agreed work, on site with a voice note. It records the change against the job with the time and date, and adds it to the final invoice automatically.
Best for: trades where jobs change on-site, such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and renovation work.
14 days free. No credit card.

What variations in Korda Pro don't do
Korda Pro records variations so they get billed. It doesn't collect your customer's signature. For residential building work, some states require variations to be agreed in writing before the work starts. Check the rules for your state, for example, in NSW, Victoria and Queensland.

Frequently asked questions
Does my customer have to approve the variation in Korda Pro?
Korda Pro doesn't ask your customer to approve it. Agree on extra work with your customer as you normally would. For some residential work, your state may require this in writing.
When does the variation get billed?
It's added to the final invoice automatically when you invoice the job.
Can I take money off a job?
Yes. Log a credit the same way, and it will be deducted from the final invoice.
Does it work with Xero?
Yes. Variations appear as lines on the invoice that saves to Xero.
Can I log a variation by text instead of a voice note?
Yes. Send it as a WhatsApp text message, and Korda Pro logs it the same way.
Can I log a variation after I've created the invoice?
Yes, as long as the invoice is still a draft. Once the invoice has been sent, it can't be changed.
How do I charge a customer for a variation?
Send a voice note or text in WhatsApp describing the extra work. Korda Pro prices it using your hourly rate and materials markup, shows you the draft to check, and adds it to the final invoice so the extra work doesn't get missed.
